United Nations Environment Assembly Sargassum Side Event

The Regional Seas Programme of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), namely the Abidjan Convention and Cartagena Convention Secretariat in partnership with UNEP/Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-Based Activities (GPA), and USAID/West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change Programme (WABiCC) hosted panelists that conveyed the economic and cultural impacts of sargassum beachings as well as the emergence of microenterprises related to the reuse of sargassum.
