Out of the podcast, The Sargassum Champions Course was developed. The goal of the course is to give in-depth information about Sargassum to community leaders and give them the confidence level to educate about Sargassum in their community. Organizers held the first session online with the financial support from the European Union. The course was a blend of recorded expert videos, field based homework and live video conference sessions to exchange about the Sargassum situation in the various locations of the participants. Was produced 7 expert videos and organisers obtained rights to use 4 other already existing expert videos for the course. The course was a huge success with 24 participants from 9 different islands that learned together. Past participants meet monthly and invite experts so we can continue learning together. Participants have since then brought their Sargassum knowledge to over 1000 people through classes, radio and tv interviews, talks and one on one conversations.
